(Piute County, UT) — Officials say the large Silver King wildfire burning in Piute County is spreading significantly. Officials say the fire has grown to more than 12-thousand acres as of this morning after reportedly igniting over the weekend thanks to lightning. It has led to a closure order in the Fishlake National Forest but no evacuation orders have been put in place as of yesterday evening. Several aerial tools are being used to combat the fire and one line is being set up to protect the Silver King Mine.
