(Marysvale, UT) — The Silver King wildfire is zero percent contained today as 350 firefighters are on the ground fighting the major blaze. A fleet of tankers and helicopters are working from the air to try and slow the progress of the wildfire which was sparked by lightning on Sunday, July 5th. The wildfire grew to more than 14-thousand-800 acres by this morning. The U.S. Forest Service says hot, dry and gusty winds caused the fire to quickly intensify and spread. The Fishlake National Forest has issued a full closure order. The U.S. Department of Agriculture notes that the closure area starts at the junction of I-70 and Fish Creek, and proceeds east along the south side of I-70 to the south side of Castle Rock Campground.
