Scam Artists Target Rocky Mountain Power Customers

(St. George, UT) — Scam artists are targeting Rocky Mountain Power customers. The scam involves threatening to shut off the power over the phone unless they pay up. David Eskelsen, a media representative with Rocky Mountain Power, said the company has never issued a 20-minute shutoff notice over the phone. Normally, customers get a notice directly on their door a minimum of 48 business hours before the power is shut off. But, the notices are currently paused until January 3rd.
