Update: Richfield City Police have confirmed that the juvenile was driving a stolen truck.
Around 8:20 p.m. on the night of Dec. 31 Richfield City Police responded to a call about a vehicle driving recklessly in Richfield City limits.
When police arrived the driver of the vehicle fled the scene and police followed in pursuit. The chase started on the West side of Richfield and moved through various parts of town.
Eventually the suspect, driving a Silverado truck, started to drive down 500 North towards the East end of town. Eventually the driver ran out of road and the vehicle went airborne before crashing into the canal.
According to Police Chief Trent Lloyd, the driver of the vehicle was a 14 year old juvenile. He was taken from the scene by ambulance but is expected to be ok.
