(Salt Lake City, UT) – The University of Utah’s board of trustees is apparently set to reinstate the former head of the Huntsman Cancer Institute one week after firing her through an email. The “Deseret News” reports the trustees will meet in executive session this morning and will apparently reinstate Dr. Mary Beckerle as the CEO of the institute. The move to fire Beckerle last week brought criticism and protests from staff members, patients and others connected to the institute including Jon Huntsman Sr. The man who provided the funds to start the institute 24 years ago threatened to sue the university over Beckerle’s firing and put a 250-million-dollar donation from his cancer foundation on hold.Â
