(Salt Lake City, UT) — Three years after it was built for a billion dollars, a prison might get an expansion. The expansion for the prison west of Salt Lake International airport is backed by State Representative Karianne Lisonbee. KUTV says she did not give a scheduled presentation to the appropriations committee because of another obligation. She declined to speak with the station. Her fellow Republican lawmakers questioned the need for an expansion three years after the prison was built.
