Lt. Gov. Henderson Proposes Community Service Requirement For HS Graduation

(Cedar City, UT) — Utah students might have to do community service in order to graduate from high school. Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson made that proposal for 9th through 12th graders Tuesday in Cedar City. Henderson laid out the proposing during Governor Spencer Cox’s One Utah Summit. She said, “We want them to be doing a little bit every year and get in that habit of community service.” Henderson said her plan is to try out a pilot program with some school districts and charter schools before expanding it statewide.
