(Ivins, UT) — The top tier of women’s professional golf is coming to Southern Utah, and it’s bringing a lot of money. Local and state officials, including Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson, announced on Tuesday the LPGA’s Black Desert Championship will be played at Black Desert Resort in Ivins in May of 2025 and for at least five consecutive years after that. The Greater Zion Convention and Tourism Office will sponsor the event, which will be televised worldwide on the Golf Channel. The LPGA says it expects the tour event to pump more than 21-million dollars into Southern Utah’s economy every year with as many as 50-thousand people attending the tournament. Lieutenant Governor Henderson said, “Washington County better get ready for a lot of tourists.”
