Lori Vallow-Daybell was sentenced Monday to three life without parole sentences for the deaths of her two children, Tylee and JJ, as well as her husband Chad Daybell’s first wife, Tammy. Judge Steven Boyce stated at the sentencing that while some will question why life sentences should run consecutively, he said it was important to recognize each of the victims as individuals, and consecutive sentences would facilitate that. He noted that Vallow-Daybell continues to show no remorse for the crimes and refused to participate in the pre-sentence investigation, which could have provided evidence of mitigating circumstances. He also stated the heinous and egregious elements of the crimes demanded the most severe sentences to serve justice. Vallow-Daybell was remanded to the Idaho State Department of Corrections to begin serving her sentence.
