Richfield, Utah, May 25, 2017 – Those who knew Kendall J. Willardson remember a man who was passionate about his family and community, serving others, sports, and the healthcare industry – traits that four local students exemplified as part of Sevier Valley Hospital’s annual Kendall J. Willardson Memorial Scholarship.
Kinley Fautin from Piute High School, South Sevier High’s Porter Dowell, and Reggie Hinck and Derek Workman – both from Richfield High School – were each awarded a $1,000 scholarship based on their grades, service to the community, participation in sports, and the goal of a career in healthcare.
While the scholarship recipients differ in the areas of healthcare that they’d like to pursue, they all have a strong desire to build a career serving others. Derek has the goal of becoming an orthopedic surgeon; Reggie will be working towards a career as a pharmacist; Porter would like to be a family practice physician; and Kinley plans to become a physician assistant.
This year marked the fourth year of the program held in honor of long-time SVH employee and friend, Kendall J. Willardson.
