Legislature Sets Dates For Special Election To Replace Rep. Stewart

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Voters in Congressional District 2 will cast ballots in early September and mid-November to choose a replacement for retiring Congressman Chris Stewart. Yesterday the Legislature voted to hold the primary for that special election on September 5th and the general election on November 21st. Twenty-two candidates are running to succeed Stewart. The six-term Republican representative announced late last month he’ll resign his seat in Congress on September 15th to focus on his wife’s ongoing medical issues.
