(Washington, DC) — A Utah Republican is no longer part of the Senate Commerce Committee. Republican Senator Mike Lee has reportedly been removed from the committee by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. Political analysts believe the move may be in retaliation for Lee’s support of South Carolina Senator Rick Scott, who challenged McConnell’s leadership last year. Scott was also removed from the panel. Lee remains on the Senate’s Energy and Natural Resources and Judiciary committees.
