LDS Leader Issues Another Apology For Remarks On Race

(Edmonton) — A leader for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is issuing another apology for remarks he made related to race. Last week, Brad Wilcox of the Young Men general presidency spoke at a youth conference in Alpine and suggested LDS members should reframe questions related to the faith’s former ban on Black members holding the priesthood. Wilcox apologized for those remarks, but then video of earlier conferences made their way to the internet, showing he had made the same statements for several years. While speaking in Canada, Wilcox apologized again, admitting he had failed to see how his comments were hurtful.
