LDS Church Appoints New Presiding Bishop

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The LDS Church has named W. Christopher Waddell as its 16th Presiding Bishop. The 66-year-old replaces Elder Gerald Causse, who joined the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. Waddell brings more than a decade of experience in the Bishopric and General Authority Seventy and will serve alongside First Counselor Todd Bridge and Second Counselor Sean Douglas. The Presiding Bishopric oversees humanitarian aid, welfare programs, tithing, and church facilities.
