Latter-day Saint Mission President in France Dies

(Lyon, France) — The president of a Latter-day Saint mission in France died this weekend at the age of 54, just months into his service. Church officials say Jason Soulier had reportedly been ill for a few days, and passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Saturday. President Soulier, who was serving with his wife since June, was known for his enthusiasm and dedication to his role. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints offered condolences and support to his family and the missionaries in the mission. Elder James McConkie III will temporarily lead the mission.
