Judge Signs Execution Warrant For Convicted Cedar City Murderer

(Cedar City, UT) — A Utah judge has signed an execution warrant for a man convicted of a brutal 1998 murder in Cedar City. Investigators say Taberon Honie broke into the home of Claudia Benn, sexually assaulted her, and slashed her to death with a knife. Honie’s death sentence was upheld in 2002 and 2024 by the Utah Supreme Court. Honie is set to be executed by lethal injection on August 8th.
