Jordan River Temple Rededication Date Set

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (AP)-Thursday, the Salt Lake City-based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints announced the rededication date of its Jordan River Temple.

The Church announced an open house will commence Saturday March 17, 2018 and run through Saturday April 28 with the exception of Sundays and one Saturday, March 24.

The rededication will occur Sunday May 20 in three sessions, 9:00 am, 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm MDT.

These proceedings will be broadcast to meetinghouses in the Jordan River, Oquirrh Mountain and Draper temple districts and regular Sunday meetings will be canceled on May 20 in these areas.

There will be a cultural celebration prior to this on Saturday May 19.

Currently, there are 156 operative temples in the Church, with the 157th slated for dedication August 13, the Tucson Arizona temple.
