Human remains found in Kane County have been identified. According to a press release, “on May 8, Kane County Sheriff’s Office was notified about possible human remains located by an individual hunting on Cedar Mountain. The location of the remains was about a mile from where the original remains of Courtney Townsend were located in May of 2024.” Search and Rescue volunteers, deputies and detectives searched the area the next day for any additional remains, but none were found. The Utah Sate Medical Examiner’s office was able to positively identify the remains as belonging to Townsend. It was shared that, “the items did not provide any additional clues regarding the death of Ms. Townsend.”
