A man wanted in connection with a homicide in Colorado was taken into custody in Sigurd after a brief standoff with Sevier County deputies and members of US Marshall’s VFAST team yesterday. Eric Evan Douglas, age 32 of Aurora, Colorado, was wanted in connection with a homicide in Aurora, Colorado that happened on Dec. 9. According to a press release from the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, “with help from the FBI, Douglas was located at a residence in Sigurd Utah. Once members of the VFAST team were able to confirm Douglas was in the residence with two other individuals, a cooperative team effort surrounded the home and eventually took Douglas into custody with no injuries to Douglas or other residents.” He was taken to the Sevier County Jail where he will wait for extradition proceeding.
