A 61-year-old hang glider is recovering from serious injuries after a landing accident Saturday in Sevier County.

According to Sevier County Sheriff, Nate Curtis, the pilot tried to land in a field South of Monroe, but was injured in the landing.

Deputies and a friend of the unnamed pilot had to cut wires to get the pilot out.

He was taken to Sevier Valley Hospital, then flown via helicopter to another hospital.
