One person is dead after a crash involving a school bus in Sanpete County. On Mar. 6, a Sanpete County School District bus was stopped in the northbound lanes of US-89 just south of Fairview with its flashing lights on and stop signs down dropping off students. According to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Clay Morgan, a Honda Accord was northbound and for an unknown reason, didn’t notice the bus, attempting to stop momentarily before crashing into the back of it. There were 10 elementary aged students on the bus and two off the bus on the right shoulder of the road but none were injured. The driver of the Accord was transported to a hospital in Utah County by helicopter where they later passed away. The school district was able to assure all kids were returned home safely.
