(Salt Lake City, UT) — The family of a University of Utah student who was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend hired an attorney. Nineteen-year-old Zhifan Dong was found dead at a hotel in Downtown Salt Lake City back in February. Dong’s family hired attorney Brian Stewart, who handled the murder case of Lauren McCluskey after she was killed on U of U campus by her ex-boyfriend. In a lawsuit, Stewart helped the McCluskey Family secure a 13-and-a-half-million-dollar settlement. U officials released a series of documents on Tuesday where they revealed failures on their part leading up to Dong’s death.
