(Salt Lake City, UT) — The state of Utah is not in compliance with cybersecurity standards. A new report commissioned by the Utah Legislature found the state’s judicial branch lacks a plan to protect its cybersecurity. Security practices were examined across all three branches of Utah’s government from 2016 through 2022. During those six years, cyberattacks cost Utah over six-million dollars. Several agenices like the Department of Public Safety have acknowledged the findings and are adopting new security recommendations.
