(Salt Lake City, UT) — Governor Cox is asking Utahns to take steps to stay safe from flooding. The governor declared April Flood Safety Awareness Month yesterday. The declaration notes that flooding causes more damage in Utah than any other severe weather-related event, and that flooding is not often covered by most property insurance policies. The declaration urges Utahns to prepare for flooding and to learn more through the Utah Division of Emergency Management website.
