Audit Criticizes State Prison System Over Sex Offender Treatment 

(Salt Lake City, UT)  –  State prison officials are being criticized for a backlog of inmates still waiting for sex offender treatment.  A recently conducted audit of the Utah Department of Corrections shows dozens of inmates have been kept in prison past the end of their sentences while waiting for treatment.  The audit also questioned oversight of the program and called treatment methods outdated.  The head of the corrections department says changes are already being made including replacing the person who had been in charge of the programÂ
