(Cedar City, UT) — Nearly 20 emaciated dogs have been rescued from a training facility in Cedar City. Iron County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Dave Mitchell told reporters the dogs were being kept in conditions he called “deplorable,” with animals in their own waste and urine. He said, “Deputies found 19 dogs to be unhealthy, malnourished, and living in life-threatening conditions.” Deputies acting on a search warrant seized the dogs that were skin-and-bones and took them to a local animal shelter. The Sheriff’s Office said animal cruelty charges are pending.
