After 11 seasons as head coach of the Manti Templar boys basketball team, Devin Shakespear has announced that he is retiring from coaching. In a social media post, Devin said that the decision was not made lightly and was related to a medical condition that took him out of commission for a few games last season. Though his health has improved, he says the experience has changed him. The coaching vacancy will be filled by longtime assistant coach Dane Pollock. Shakespear says that even though he’s leaving the court, he will continue to work with student athletes and coaches.
