(Salt Lake City, UT) – Utah Congressman Jason Chaffetz will be taking a leave of absence from his duties in Washington, DC to have surgery on his foot. Chaffetz broke his foot in a fall twelve years ago and has 14 screws and a metal plate holding it together. The Republican congressman announced yesterday on Instagram that doctors at the University of Utah were recommending immediate surgery because of a risk for infection. His recovery is expected to take three to four weeks.Â
