New Manti Temple president is announced

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced a new temple president.  Called to serve as president of the Manti, Utah temple is Richard William Wheeler, 66, of Ephraim.  His wife, Linda Nielson Wheeler, will serve as temple matron.  The Wheelers are currently serving as temple ordinance workers in Manti.

A retired vice president and professor at Snow College, President Wheeler has served as an Area Seventy, stake president and bishop.  He recently served as the president of the Arizona Gilbert Mission, along with his wife, who served as his companion.

In addition to serving with her husband in the Arizona Gilbert Mission, Sister Wheeler has served as a Stake Relief Society president and a ward Relief Society counselor.

The Wheelers will begin their new calling at the temple in August.
