ALAMOSA, Colo.-Rylan O’brien posted 23 points on 8-16 from the field and the Adams State Grizzlies upset No. 19 Dixie State 82-75 Saturday at Plachy Hall in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men’s basketball action.
Szymon Walczak added 20 points and 5 rebounds on 7-11 from the field for the Grizzlies, who improved to 7-14 and 5-10 in RMAC play. Adams State shot 50 percent for the game, including 62.96 percent in the second half to explode for 53 points in the latter 20 minutes of game action.
Jack Pagenkopf’s 20 points led the Trailblazers in the loss as they fell to 17-4 and 12-3 in RMAC play.
Dixie State returns to action Friday and Saturday as the Trailblazers face Western Slope foes Western Colorado and Colorado Mesa respectively on the road.
