Utah crash kills 2, injures 5 when truck goes off dirt road

HUNTSVILLE, Utah (AP) — Authorities say two people were killed and five others injured when ejected from a pickup truck that went off a dirt road and rolled multiple times as it went into a ravine in rural northern Utah.

Weber County sheriff’s deputies responding to a 911 call early Saturday found the truck approximately 160 feet (49 meters) off the road near the unincorporated community of Huntsville.

No identities were released but the Sheriff’s Office said the victims ranged in age from 16 to 50 and that conditions of the injured weren’t available.

The Weber Fire District said at least two of the truck’s occupants walked to a nearby cabin to call for help.

Sheriff’s Lt. Cortney Ryan said investigators believed alcohol “may be a factor.”
