On Apr. 9, the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity awarded a Rural Economic Development Tax Increment Financing post-performance tax reduction to Creekstone Energy, LLC in Millard County. This was awarded for its “Creekstone Gigasite” project located near Delta. According to a press release, “the campus will feature a “behind-the-meter” design combining on-site natural gas power generation, utility-scale solar energy, and purpose-built data processing facilities operating independently from the constrained utility grid.” The company aims to establish the world’s largest AI-optimized data center, planning to invest over 17 billion dollars, creating 106 high-paying jobs over the next two decades.
