Man Arrested After High Speed Chase In Sevier County

On Mar. 10, Salina City Police department received a notice from their license plate reader system of a vehicle that had been stolen in New Mexico. Sevier County deputies were watching for the vehicle and observed it westbound on I-70 near Joseph. According to a press release from the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, “deputies attempted a traffic stop, the suspect, Clayton Hill, age 21 of Maxwell, New Mexico, fled, leading the deputies on a pursuit southbound on I-15.” Utah Highway Patrol successfully spiked the suspect vehicle and flattened the driver side tires. The pursuit ended when the suspect slammed into the side of a troopers vehicle. The suspect and the  trooper were checked out by EMS and were released from the scene. Hill was booked into the Sevier County Jail on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing from a peace officer, aggravated assault, reckless driving and possession of marijuana. He also has multiple warrants out of New Mexico.
