New Utah Quarterback Named To Maxwell Award Watch List

Per Monday news, Utah junior quarterback Devon Dampier, a transfer from New Mexico, was named to the Maxwell Award Watch List.

This is annually presented to the College Player of the Year, dating back to 1937. Dampier is the only respresentative from a school in Utah to receive this distinction.

The native of Phoenix completed 57.9 percent of his passes for 2,768 yards, 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions last season for the Lobos.

Dampier and his Utah teammates start the season August 30 by visiting UCLA in what is now a non-conference tilt.
