HERRIMAN, Utah-Marcus Chase netted 18 points and 13 rebounds and the No. 17 Delta Rabbits outlasted No. 16 Providence Hall 60-56 Wednesday in the first round of the 3A state playoffs. Cai Henderson added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the win for the Rabbits, who next visit No. 1 South Summit Saturday at 1:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs. Ty Warnick’s 11 points and 9 rebounds led the Patriots in the loss.
BLUFFDALE, Utah-Colbyn Draper led the way with 27 points and the No. 15 Summit Academy Bears outgunned No. 18 Ben Lomond 97-80 in the first round of the 3A state playoffs Wednesday. Hunter Christensen had 24 points in the loss for the Scots. The Bears next visit No. 2 Emery Saturday at 1:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.
2A First Round
BLANDING, Utah-Anthony Done posted 21 points and the No. 12 San Juan Broncos pounded No. 21 Intermountain Christian 82-39 Wednesday in the first round of the 2A state playoffs. Noah Hillaker had 13 points in the loss for the Lions. San Juan next visits No. 5 North Summit Saturday at 7:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.
SANDY, Utah-Carter Nielson recorded 21 points and the No. 16 Waterford Ravens downed No. 17 Water Canyon 59-55 in the first round of the 2A state playoffs Wednesday. David Barlow led the Wildcats in the loss with 18 points. Waterford next visits No. 1 Kanab in the second round of the state playoffs Saturday at 7:00 pm.
SALT LAKE CITY-Landen Brady led the way with 24 points and the No. 9 Rowland Hall-St. Mark’s Winged Lions hammered No. 24 Millard 65-44 Wednesday in the first round of the 2A state playoffs. Noah Rowell led the Eagles in the loss with 13 points. Rowland Hall next visits No. 8 Grand Saturday at 7:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.
MOAB, Utah-Jason McKinney netted 20 points and the No. 8 Grand Red Devils clobbered No. 25 Utah Military Hillfield 95-19 in the first round of the 2A state playoffs Wednesday. Sky Amboy had 9 points in the loss for the Thunderbirds.
PAROWAN, Utah-Trevor Robison and Hunter Bettridge had 22 points apiece and the No. 15 Parowan Rams stonewalled No. 18 Maeser 63-53 Wednesday in the first round of the 2A state playoffs. Kale Garner’s 17 points led the Lions in the loss. Parowan next visits No. 2 APA West Valley Saturday at 7:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.
DUCHESNE, Utah-Kyson Giles stepped up with 14 points and the No. 7 Duchesne Eagles pounded No. 26 Freedom Prep 66-26 Wednesday in the first round of the 2A state playoffs. Duchesne next hosts No. 10 ALA Saturrday at 7:00 pm Wednesday in the second round of the state playoffs.
SPANISH FORK, Utah-Jaxon Hunter netted 20 points and the No. 10 ALA Eagles drilled No. 23 St. Joseph 77-49 in the first round of the 2A state playoffs Wednesday. Gavin Wolf posted 22 points in the loss for the Jayhawks.
LEHI, Utah-The No. 19 Merit Knights upset No. 14 Utah Military-Camp Williams 72-62 in the first round of the 2A state playoffs Wednesday. The Knights next visit No. 3 Enterprise in the second round of the state playoffs Saturday at 7:00 pm.
BEAVER, Utah-Taiven Gillins led the way with 16 points and the No. 11 Beaver Beavers waxed No. 22 Draper APA 59-52 Wednesday in the first round of the 2A state playoffs. Urban Baldwin’s 15 points led the Eagles in the loss. Beaver next visits No. 6 Rockwell Saturday at 7:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.
GUNNISON, Utah-Efrain Bernardino posted 19 points and the No. 20 North Sevier Wolves upset No. 13 Gunnison Valley 57-45 in the first round of the 2A state playoffs Wednesday. Landry Edwards led the Bulldogs in the loss with 14 points. The Wolves next visit No. 4 South Sevier Saturday at 7:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs.

Region 20 Tournament First Round
BICKNELL, Utah-AJ VanDyke posted 19 points and 10 rebounds and the No. 2 Wayne Badgers smacked No. 7 Escalante 71-45 Wednesday in the first round of the Region 20 Tournament. Mazee Dunton’s game-high 20 points led the Moquis in the loss. The Badgers next face No. 3 Piute Friday at 5:00 pm in the region quarterfinals at Panguitch High School. Escalante next faces No. 6 Bryce Valley Friday at 10:00 am at Panguitch High School in the consolation bracket.
JUNCTION, Utah-Kenadi King led the way with 11 points and the No. 3 Piute Thunderbirds stormed past No. 6 Bryce Valley 40-23 in the first round of the Region 20 Tournament Wednesday. Grace Leech led the Mustangs in the loss with 11 points.
ORDERVILLE, Utah-Kimber Reeve posted 12 points and the No. 4 Valley Buffalos edged No. 5 Milford 47-44 Wednesday in the first round of the Region 20 Tournament. Tayleah Spaulding’s game-high 16 points led the Tigers in the loss. Valley next draws No. 1 Panguitch Friday at 1:30 pm in the region quarterfinals. Milford will play for fifth place Saturday at 10:00 am at Panguitch High School.
