Three Utah Men’s Basketball Standouts Achieve NABC Honors Court Recognition

KANSAS CITY, Mo.-Tuesday, three Utah men’s basketball standouts achieved NABC Honors Court status.

Senior forward Eli Ballstaedt, senior shooting guard Jaxon Brenchley and Purdue graduate senior shooting guard David Jenkins Jr. each earned this recognition.

By virtue of their achievements, Utah earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award.

This is the fifth time the Runnin’ Utes have earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award since its inception during the 2012-13 season. Utah also did so in 2013, 2018, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

To be eligible for the NABC Honors Court, student-athletes must:

  1. academically be a junior or senior and a varsity player
  2. have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the academic year
  3. students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution
  4. be a member of an NCAA Division I, II, III school or NAIA Division I or Division II institution with a full-time NABC member coach.

For a team to be eligible for this award, a program must achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better for the previous season.
