Judge Fast-Tracks Lawsuit Over Transgender Sports Ban

(Salt Lake City, UT) — A Utah judge is fast-tracking a lawsuit seeking to block the state’s transgender sports ban. The Third District Court judge set a series of deadlines yesterday for the submission of depositions and motions. The judge expects to hold two key hearings in August. One hearing will consider the Utah Attorney General’s request to dismiss the lawsuit. A hearing one day later will consider a request for a restraining order to keep the law from going into effect.
