Girls Basketball

Region 12

RICHFIELD, Utah-Nicole Willardson led the way with 13 points and the Richfield Wildcats drilled Carbon 43-29 in Region 12 girls basketball action Thursday. Haley Garrish had 10 points for the Dinos in defeat.

Region 14

DELTA, Utah-Ashlynd Hunt stepped up with 16 points and the Delta Rabbits waxed Manti 46-40 Thursday in Region 14 girls basketball play at the Palladium. Heidi Jorgensen and Sharlie Alder had 12 points apiece for the Templars in the loss.

Region 16

COALVILLE, Utah-Chezlie Langston amassed 21 points and the North Summit Braves upset Millard 48-46 Thursday in Region 16 girls basketball play. Paige Cummings had 11 points for the Eagles in the loss.

DUCHESNE, Utah-Kelsey Grant led the way with 19 points and the Duchesne Eagles edged North Sevier 51-50 in Region 16 girls basketball play Thursday. Cale Torgerson’s 12 points paced the Wolves in defeat.

Region 19

MONROE, Utah-Avery Brown posted 10 points and the Beaver Beavers bested South Sevier 37-27 in Region 19 girls basketball play Thursday. Aspen Okerlund had 13 points for the Rams in defeat.

KANAB, Utah-Tyler Nez netted 17 points and the Kanab Lady Cowboys dismantled Parowan 56-35 Thursday in Region 19 girls basketball play. Bella Johnson had 10 points for the Rams in the loss.

Region 20

HILDALE, Utah-Mikki Prows and Kenzie Lyman had 12 points apiece and the Escalante Moquis edged Water Canyon 37-36 in Region 20 girls basketball play Thursday. Melissa Jessop’s game-high 20 points led the Wildcats in defeat.

JUNCTION, Utah-Kassidy Westwood stepped up with 15 points and the Piute Thunderbirds waxed Panguitch 35-23 Thursday in Region 20 girls basketball play. Kyan Orton led the Bobcats with 11 points in the loss.

TROPIC, Utah-Allee VanDyke’s 13 points led the way and the Wayne Badgers hammered Bryce Valley 52-27 in Region 20 girls basketball play Thursday. Reagan Syrett had 12 points in defeat for the Mustangs.

MILFORD, Utah-Tayleah Spaulding netted 22 points and the Milford Tigers gashed Valley 62-43 Thursday in Region 20 girls basketball play. Janilyn Hoyt had 17 points in the loss for the Buffaloes.

Boys Swimming

RICHFIELD, Utah-The Region 12 Championship Swim Meet was held at the Richfield City Pool Thursday and the Canyon View Falcons were crowned as the boys champions with 469 points. Carbon finished second with 318, followed by Richfield with 305, Grand County with 264 and Emery rounded out the top five with 219. Gunnison Valley finished sixth with 141 points, Beaver placed seventh with 36 and South Sevier took eighth with 32.

Individual winners from local high schools include: Grant Kling of Richfield with new school records in the 50 Free and 100 Free and Robert Gonzalez of Beaver in the 100 Butterfly.

Girls Swimming

RICHFIELD, Utah- The Region 12 Championship Swim Meet was held at the Richfield City Pool Thursday and the Carbon Dinos were crowned as the girls champions with 462 points. Emery finished second with 401.5, followed by Canyon View with 355.5, Richfield with 224 and Grand County rounded out the top five with 182 points. Gunnison Valley finished sixth with 99 points, South Sevier placed seventh with 39, Beaver came in eighth with 27 and North Sevier placed ninth with 14 points.
