AUSTIN, Texas-Saturday, at the NCAA Outdoor Women’s Track and Field championships, a pair of former Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network athletes competed and placed in the finals of their respective races.
BYU star junior Whittni Orton, a former Panguitch High standout, placed eighth in the women’s 1500-meter run (4:14.73). Oklahoma State’s Sinclaire Johnson (4:05.98) took the national championship in the event.
In the women’s 800-meter run, Orton’s teammate, Anna Camp, a fellow junior out of Millard High School, placed eighth (2:05.93) as well. The national champion in this event was Texas A&M’s Jazmin Fray (2:01.43)

Both of these star athletes will return for a senior year of competition under head coach Ed Eyestone in 2019-20, commencing with cross country in the fall. The schedule for the upcoming season has not yet been released.
