OGDEN, Utah-Wednesday, Weber State senior small forward Dillon Jones was named as a top 5 finalist for the Julius Erving Award.
This award is annually bestowed upon the top small forward in the country.
Jones is averaging 20.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game for the 20-11 (11-7 in Big Sky Conference play) Wildcats.
Jones is joined by Washington senior small forward Keion Brooks Jr. (21.3 points, 6.7 rebounds per game), Memphis senior small forward David Jones (21.9 points, 7.6 rebounds per game) Tennessee senior small forward Dalton Knecht (20.6 points, 4.9 rebounds per game) and Creighton senior small forward Baylor Scheierman (18.5 points, 8.9 rebounds per game).
The winner of this award will be honored on a yet-to-be determined date.
Jones and his Weber State teammates return to action Monday as the No. 4 seed in the Big Sky Conference tournament at Boise, Idaho against No.5 Montana State.
