FORT WORTH, Texas-Monday, University of Utah sophomore signal-caller Cameron Rising was named to the Davey O’Brien Award’s weekly ‘Great 8,’ following the Utes’ 42-26 win at USC last Saturday evening.
This also adds Rising to the award’s midseason watch list and he is eligible to be voted as a semifinalist, finalist or winner of the O’Brien National Quarterback Award.
The native of Ventura, Calif. went 22-28 for 306 yards, 3 TD’s, 0 INT’s and a rushing score for the Utes.
This was the Utes’ first 300-yard passing game since a 49-3 win over UCLA November 16, 2019, when current Baltimore Ravens signal-caller Tyler Huntley threw for 335 yards and two scores.
Rising and his Utes teammates return to action Saturday by hosting Arizona State.
