BALTIMORE-As confirmed late Thursday, University of Utah senior quarterback Charlie Brewer was named to the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List. He is the only representative of a Utah-based school on the watch list.

This award annually recognizes the top senior/upperclassman quarterback set to graduate with their class in FBS college football.

Brewer is a transfer from Baylor and has yet to take a snap for the Utes.

The 6-1 210-pound signal-caller has completed 63.5 percent of his passes for 9,700 yards, 65 touchdowns and 28 interceptions.

Brewer is mired in a quarterback competition with Cameron Rising presently.

The Utes’ season commences September 2 as they host Weber State at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
