Pine View Invitational
ST. GEORGE, Utah-Saturday, the Pine View Invitational concluded with markedly better weather than the previous day as there was no rain in the Washington County area.
This created a perfect environment for Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network schools and athletes competing at the event to show their skills.
Overall, Desert Hills’ girls finished first with 104 points. Delta’s girls finished sixth with 29.83 points and Panguitch was 14th with 22 points.
For the boys, Desert Hills also took the title with 90 points. Delta finished 16th with 15 points and Richfield placed 19th with 10 points.
Panguitch’s Taylia Norris placed 13th (11:32.44) in the girls’ 3200-meter run.
In the girls’ 100-meter run, Delta’s Jordyn Nielson (13.16 seconds) placed fourth with her teammates, Megan Atkinson (13.61 seconds) and Brandy Stratten (13.69 seconds) placing sixth and seventh, respectively.
The Richfield girls placed sixth in the 4 x 100 relay (52.61 seconds). This team featured Melissa Crane, Tressa Bastian, Brianna Davis-Mitchell and Passion Reitz.
Millard’s Audrey Camp (1:00.83) placed third in the girls’ 400-meter dash and Richfield’s Melissa Crane finished sixth (49.37 seconds) in the girls’ 300-meter hurdles.
Katy Kelly of Millard finished eighth (2:25.89) in the girls’ 800-meter run and the Panguitch girls finished sixth (4:34.01) in the medley relay. In this event, the Bobcats were represented by Tana Frandsen, Brianna Stowe, Hallie Palmer and Taylia Norris.
In the girls’ 200-meter dash, Delta’s Jordyn Nielson and Megan Atkinson finished seventh (27.11 seconds) and eighth (27.43 seconds) respectively.
In the girls’ javelin, Panguitch’s Karlee Eyre (111-10 feet) placed second and Jacky Hatch of Delta (109-09 feet) placed fourth. Mary Degraffenreid of Millard placed fifth (108-07 feet) and Mataya Barney of Panguitch placed ninth (103-05 feet).
The girls’ shot put saw Panguitch’s Kambree Fullmer (32-11 feet) place fourth while North Sevier’s Brinley Mason (32-05 feet) placed sixth and Haylee Christenson of Delta placed seventh (32-03 feet).
For the boys, Richfield’s Hayden Harward (9:36.43) placed fourth in the boys’ 3200-meter run. Kanyon Lamb of Panguitch (16.48 seconds) finished fifth in the boys’ 110-meter hurdles.
In the boys’ medley relay, Millard placed sixth (3:54.52) and Panguitch finished seventh (3:58.48).
The Beaver boys placed ninth in the 4 x 400 (3:40.95). This team consists of Hunter Carter, Jayton Jessup, Turner Williams and Spencer Williams.
The boys’ long jump saw Delta’s Trey Brough (19.08-75 feet) place fourth overall.
Carbon Invitational
PRICE, Utah-Saturday, athletes from Richfield, North Sanpete, Wayne and Gunnison Valley High Schools competed at the Carbon Invitational, repping the Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network well.
The Carbon girls won the team title on their home turf with 94 points. North Sanpete finished 14th with 20 points and Wayne placed 15th with 13 points.
Grand’s boys took the team championship with 136 points. North Sanpete was eighth with 28 points and Gunnison Valley was 13th with 13 points. Wayne finished 14th with 11.4 points and Richfield was 15th with 11 points.
For the girls, Wayne’s Brynnli Nelson placed fifth (17.89 seconds) in the 100-meter hurdles. Nelson also placed second (114-04 feet) in the girls’ javelin.
North Sanpete’s Isabelle Hightower (12.90 seconds) finished second in the girls’ 100-meter dash.
In the girls’ 4 x 100 meter relay, North Sanpete placed sixth (56.04 seconds). This team features Isabelle Hightower, Natalya Benson, Tessa Fowles and Addelyn Brotherson.
North Sanpete placed sixth in the girls’ 4 x 400 relay (5:05.38) with Aubry Cook, Rachael Jones, Tamsin Stewart and Danielle Garff competing.
Hope Christensen of North Sanpete (4 feet 10 inches) finished third in the girls’ high jump.
Hali Peterson of Wayne finished eighth in the girls’ long jump with a leap of 14-11.50 feet.
For the boys, Gunnison Valley’s medley relay squad finished sixth (4:11.12). This team for the Bulldogs consists of Jack Hansen, Ethan Carter, Harley Hill and Benjamin Hill.
The Bulldogs’ 4 x 100 relay team was also solid (48.60 seconds) as it placed fifth overall. Gunnison Valley was represented by Ethan Carter, Kort Sorenson, Carson Yardley and Zachary Stewart in this event.
In the boys’ 1600-meter run, North Sanpete’s Orange Peel (4:46.60) placed second and his teammate, Matt Hindes (4:54.12) finished seventh.
In the boys’ 400-meter dash, Richfield’s Kade Jensen (51.28 seconds) placed fourth overall. Jensen also placed sixth (23.98 seconds) in the boys’ 200-meter dash.
In the boys’ 800-meter run, North Sanpete’s Matt Hindes (2:11.57) placed fifth and Gunnison Valley’s Benjmain Hill (2:12.57) finished eighth.
In the boys’ 3200-meter run, Richfield’s Cason Southwick (11:01.09) placed ninth overall.
The North Sanpete boys finished fifth overall in the 4 x 400 relay (3:57.80). The Hawks were represented in the event by Matt Hindes, Wyatt Roberts, Marcus Cisneros and Luke Jackson.
In the boys’ discus, Wyatt Blackner (105-10 feet) of Richfield finished sixth overall.
Wyatt Van Orden of Wayne won the boys’ long jump (22-02.50 feet) title and Jamal Mayoul of North Sanpete (19-01.50 feet) placed seventh.
Mayoul (5 feet-8 inches) placed fifth in the boys’ long jump while Garrett Francis of Gunnison Valley placed fourth (5 feet-8 inches) in the event.
