SUU Men’s Basketball Visits Fresno State Monday

FRESNO, Calif.-Monday evening, Southern Utah men’s basketball visits Fresno State Monday in The Basketball Classic semifinals.

The Thunderbirds are 23-6 (14-6 in Big Sky play) on the season as they play their third game in the past six days.

SUU got to this point by besting Portland 77-66 Saturday in The Basketball Classic quarterfinals.

The Bulldogs have been off since Wednesday when they vanquished Youngstown State, 80-71 at Fresno, Calif.

Fresno State (21-13, 8-9 in Mountain West play) ranks fifth nationally in scoring defense, surrendering 59.3 points per game.

The T-Birds are the 21st ranked offense in Division I, posting 78.6 points per contest.

Fresno State is led by NBA prospect, junior forward Orlando Robinson.

The 7-footer out of Las Vegas averages 19.4 points and 8.2 rebounds per game for the Bulldogs.

The winner of this game will play against the winner of Coastal Carolina-South Alabama for The Basketball Classic championship later this week. The Chanticleers and Jaguars are also playing this evening.

The Bulldogs lead the T-Birds 2-0 all-time, having prevailed over SUU in 1988 and 1990.
