GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-Thursday, the Grand Junction Rockies and Ogden Raptors played a doubleheader to make up for a postponement in the series last month.
In so doing, for the first time in baseball history, two knockout round games occurred in a doubleheader with Grand Junction winning them both.
In the first game from Suplizio Field, Caleb Farmer hit three home runs in the knockout round to lead the Grand Junction Rockies to a 3-2 win over Ogden.
Jack Parisi posted six strikeouts in five innings of work to lead Grand Junction to victory.
Josh Broughton drove in a run for the Raptors in the loss.
In the nightcap, Grand Junction prevailed 2-1 with another hard knockout win. Pat Adams homered in the loss for the Raptors.
Grand Junction improved to 13-13 on the season with the wins as Ogden stumbled to 14-12.
The Raptors and Rockies return to action Friday at 6:35 pm at Suplizio Field.
