HURRICANE, Utah-Abigail Englestead had five aces and 11 assists as the Panguitch Bobcats pounded Diamond Ranch 3-0 Wednesday in Region 20 girls volleyball action. The Bobcats prevailed, 25-4, 25-8 and 25-4 to easily dismantle the Diamondbacks.
HILDALE, Utah-The Water Canyon Wildcats outlasted Escalante 3-2 in Region 20 volleyball action Wednesday. The Wildcats prevailed 25-27, 25-19, 25-12, 23-25 and 15-13 to obtain the narrow victory over the Moquis.
ORDERVILLE, Utah-The Valley Buffaloes earned a 3-1 win over Milford in Region 20 volleyball action Wednesday.
BICKNELL, Utah-The Wayne Badgers swept Bryce Valley 3-0 Wednesday in Region 20 volleyball action. Wayne won the match 25-19, 25-21, 25-20.
Non-Region
MONROE, Utah-Noah Moyle had 16 kills and the Enterprise Wolves waxed South Sevier 3-0 in non-region volleyball action Wednesday. The Wolves got past the Rams, 25-8, 25-23 and 25-23 to prevail in straight sets.
JUNCTION, Utah-The Piute Thunderbirds dominated Parowan en route to a straight set 3-0 sweep in non-region volleyball action Wednesday. The Thunderbirds won 25-9, 25-11, 25-15.
Baseball
1A South Region
GREEN RIVER, Utah-Brody Durfey hit two doubles and the Wayne Badgers scored four runs in the top of the 7th inning to beat Green River 9-4 Wednesday in 1A South Region baseball action. Jesse Webb added a double for the Badgers and Ethan Morrill earned the win on the mound with nine strikeouts.
ORDERVILLE, Utah-Gavin Hoyt doubled and drove in five runs as the Valley Buffaloes beat Diamond Ranch 12-2 Wednesday in 1A South Region baseball action. Spencer Cox added a double in the win and Hunter Cox earned the win on the mound with five strikeouts.
TROPIC, Utah-Rafe Brinkerhoff came through with a walkoff single and the Bryce Valley Mustangs slipped past Piute 8-7 Wednesday in 1A South Region baseball action. Brinkerhoff had three RBI in the game, while Joel Romo earned the win on the mound with five strikeouts.
PANGUITCH, Utah-Ryker Hatch tripled and Tucker Chappell doubled as the Panguitch Bobcats beat Pinnacle 6-4 Wednesday in 1A South Region baseball action. Cole Harland earned the win on the mound with five strikeouts.
