SALINA, Utah-Guy Huntsman intercepted Heston Jenson in the closing seconds to quell a late comeback attempt for Richfield as North Sevier bested the Wildcats 20-14 Friday in non-region football play.

The Wolves successfully won the de facto Sevier County championship, having vanquished South Sevier 41-6 Aug. 13. This win was historically significant as it represents the first time North Sevier has defeated Richfield on the gridiron since 1933.

Nathan Snyder (20 car, 109 yards, 2 TD’s) and Kannin Boswell (24 car, 106 yards, TD) comprised a potent running attack which helped the Wolves control the line of scrimmage.

The Wolves ran for 217 yards on the evening and posted 332 yards of offense while controlling the ball for more than 34 minutes.

The Wildcats maximized their opportunities as Grant Kling returned a kickoff 99 yards for a score and Jenson had a 14-yard touchdown run following a blocked field goal attempt from Keaton Peterson.

However, Richfield’s offense netted only 128 yards of offense and averaged under 4 yards per play.

Ryker Frischknecht (10-15, 115 yards) also provided balance for the North Sevier offense in the victory.

The Wolves look to maintain their undefeated season next Friday as they visit Coalville to play North Summit.

Richfield seeks its first win of the season next Friday by hosting Payson.

DELTA, Utah-Josh Jackson ran for two touchdowns and the Delta Rabbits doubled up Manti 14-7 Friday in non-region football play. Reggie Frischknecht had a 79-yard touchdown reception from Kayson Douglas in the loss for the Templars.

MILFORD, Utah-Bo Hardy threw three touchdown passes and caught a scoring reception as the Milford Tigers hammered Rich 46-7 in non-region football play Friday. Hardy added a 10-yard touchdown run for the Tigers in the victory. Blake Barnes returned a kickoff 80 yards for a score for Milford and Dylan Ferguson made field goals of 43 and 25 yards for the Tigers.

GRANTSVILLE, Utah-Jayton Jessup ran for a touchdown and Tyten Fails threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Cobe Carter as the Beaver Beavers bested Grantsville 20-14 Friday in non-region football play. Conner Crum added an interception return for a score for the Beavers.

KANAB, Utah-Dakota Maxfield ran for two touchdowns and the Millard Eagles bested Kanab 41-27 in non-region football play Friday. The Eagles also received scoring runs from Josh Whitaker (11 yards), Brooks Christensen (5 yards), KC Whitaker (74 yards) and James Stephenson (1 yard). Bracken McQuivey had touchdown two touchdown runs for the Cowboys in defeat. Travis Stewart also had a scoring run in the loss for Kanab.

CASTLE DALE, Utah-Landon Bowles threw three touchdown passes, including a 75-yard touchdown pass to Kolby Robinson as the North Sanpete Hawks blanked Emery 27-0 Friday in non-region football play.

NEPHI, Utah-Ryan Robison threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Wesley Nielsen in the closing seconds and Juab outlasted Cedar City 29-28 in non-region football play Friday. Payton Park added a 65-yard score on a punt return and Jared Dye contributed an 8-yard touchdown run in victory for the Wasps. Ryker Richards had field goals of 28, 33 and 37 yards for Juab in the win.

MONTICELLO, Utah-Jake Hansen threw three touchdown passes and the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs outgunned Monticello 42-28 Friday in non-region football play. Hansen also ran for a score for the Bulldogs, as did Bryson Sorensen on a 9-yard scamper.

MONROE, Utah-Matthew Ramos threw a touchdown pass and ran for another score as the Enterprise Wolves downed South Sevier 21-13 in non-region football play Friday. Carter Abraham and Braxton Price ran for touchdowns in the loss for the Rams.

Baseball

1A South

GREEN RIVER, Utah-Hunter Cox drove in three runs and the Valley Buffaloes pounded Green River 14-0 in 1-A South baseball play Friday. MaCoy Harris had five strikeouts in defeat for Valley.

BICKNELL, Utah-Jake Batty’s three RBI led the way and the Wayne Badgers downed Bryce Valley 11-4 Friday in 1-A South baseball play. Ryker Peterson led the Badgers on the mound with five strikeouts in victory.

PANGUITCH, Utah-Brooks Dalton posted four RBI and the Piute Thunderbirds smoked Panguitch 10-2 in 1-A South baseball play Friday. Gavin Morgan earned the win on the mound for the T-Birds and posted nine strikeouts.

Volleyball

Non-Region

MONROE, Utah-The Panguitch Bobcats drilled South Sevier 3-1 Friday in non-region volleyball action. The Bobcats prevailed 18-25, 26-24, 30-28, 25-14. Alexa Robinson had 17 kills for the Rams in the loss.

Girls Soccer

Non-Region

MANTI, Utah-Kaylee Parry and Morgan Chidester each scored as the Manti Templars doubled up Carbon 2-1 Friday in non-region play. Allie Smith scored in the loss for the Dinos.
