3-A Boys Soccer Playoffs Second Round
MORGAN, Utah-Jamin Hayward scored twice and the No.1 Morgan Trojans routed No. 17 American Leadership 8-0 Wednesday in the second round of the 3-A state boys soccer playoffs. Tanner Stanley and Braden Howe combined on the shutout for the Trojans. Morgan next hosts No.8 South Summit May 12 at 4:00 pm in the state quarterfinals.
KAMAS, Utah-Austin Tesch scored a pair of goals and the No. 8 South Summit Wildcats downed No. 9 North Sanpete 4-1 in the second round of the 3-A state boys soccer playoffs Wednesday. Brady Jacobsen scored in defeat for the Hawks.
MOAB, Utah-Alex Noriega scored the sole goal of the game as the No. 13 Emery Spartans upset No. 4 Grand 1-0 Wednesday in the second round of the 3-A state boys soccer playoffs. Emery next visits No. 12 Richfield May 12 at 4:00 pm in the state quarterfinals.
GRANTSVILLE, Utah-Mason Solt scored and the No. 12 Richfield Wildcats doubled up No. 5 Grantsville 2-1 Wednesday in the second round of the 3-A state boys soccer playoffs. Trevor Tuckett scored in defeat for the Cowboys.
DELTA, Utah-Carlos Acosta netted a hat trick and Rider Rogers scored two more goals as the No. 2 Delta Rabbits hammered No. 15 Providence Hall 8-1 in the second round of the 3-A state boys soccer playoffs Wednesday. Mason Richins, Tate Willoughby and Grady Lovell also scored in victory for Delta. Alan Dedic found the net in defeat for the Patriots. Delta next hosts No. 10 Juab in the state quarterfinals May 12 at 4:00 pm.
PRICE, Utah-Kevin Mendez scored and the No. 10 Juab Wasps outlasted No. 7 Carbon 5-4 on penalty kicks Wednesday in the second round of the 3-A state boys soccer playoffs.
MANTI, Utah-Rayce Arbon scored the sole goal of the game and the No. 14 Summit Academy Bears upset No. 3 Manti 1-0 in the second round of the 3-A state boys soccer playoffs Wednesday. Kyson Andolsek earned the shutout for the Bears. Summit Academy next visits No. 6 seed Judge May 12 at 4:00 pm in the state quarterfinals.
SALT LAKE CITY-John Chadwick scored twice and the No. 6 Judge Memorial Bulldogs waxed No. 11 Maeser 3-1 Wednesday in the second round of the 3-A state boys soccer playoffs. Evan Nelson also scored in the win for the Bulldogs.
2-A Boys Soccer Playoffs 2nd Round
OGDEN, Utah-Ricky Aparicio scored a pair of goals and the No.1 St. Joseph Jayhawks pounded No. 16 American Heritage 8-0 in the second round of the 2-A state boys soccer playoffs Wednesday. Josh Ortiz posted the shutout for the Jayhawks. St. Joseph next faces No. 8 Layton Christian Saturday at 1:00 pm in the state quarterfinals.
LAYTON, Utah-Theo Araujo amassed four goals and the No. 8 Layton Christian Eagles routed No. 9 Millard 9-1 Wednesday in the second round of the 2-A state boys soccer playoffs.
DRAPER, Utah-Alex Wyckoff and Sebi Brown both scored as the No. 4 Draper APA Eagles doubled up No. 13 APA West Valley 2-1 in the second round of the 2-A state boys soccer playoffs Wednesday. Gerardo Bermudez scored in the loss for APA West Valley. Draper APA next faces No. 5 Waterford Saturday at 1:00 pm in the state quarterfinals.
SANDY, Utah-The No. 5 Waterford Ravens drilled No. 12 Parowan 7-1 Wednesday in the second round of the 2-A state boys soccer playoffs.
HERRIMAN, Utah-Alex Morales and Shawn Curtis each posted hat tricks and the No. 2 Real Salt Lake Academy Griffins clobbered No. 15 Merit 13-0 in the second round of the 2-A state boys soccer playoffs Wednesday. Juan Sanchez posted the shutout for the Griffins. Real Salt Lake Academy next faces No. 7 Wasatch Academy in the state quarterfinals Saturday at 1:00 pm.
MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Asaki Matsumoto and Will Larkins each scored twice as the No. 7 Wasatch Academy Tigers blanked No. 10 Diamond Ranch 6-0 Wednesday in the second round of the 2-A state boys soccer playoffs. George Rumsey posted the shutout for the Tigers.
BEAVER, Utah-Jonathan Webb, Breagan Lopshire and Luis Gutierrez each found the net as the No. 3 Beaver Beavers downed No. 14 Intermountain Christian 3-0 in the second round of the 2-A state boys soccer playoffs Wednesday. Tyson Bartlett earned the shutout for the Beavers. Beaver next hosts No. 6 Rowland Hall Saturday at 1:00 pm in the state quarterfinals.
