Region 14
DELTA, Utah-Derek Smith posted 21 points and 8 rebounds while making 9 of his 10 free throws as the Delta Rabbits overpowered Juab 56-40 in Region 14 boys basketball action Friday. Smith, while consistently the Rabbits’ stalwart throughout the season, received assistance from his teammates in a dynamic way.
Brayden Nielson posted 13 points and in his last game at the Palladium, Jaymen Brough added 12 points for the Rabbits, who improved to 13-7 on the season and conclude Region 14 play with an 8-4 record. Easton Wright had 13 points and 6 rebounds in the loss for the Wasps as they conclude the regular season at 10-12 and 7-5 in Region 14 play. Delta also shot 22-25 (88 percent) at the foul line on the evening for good measure.
Stay tuned to Mid-Utah Radio next week as both the Rabbits and Wasps will be in action at Orem High School Saturday February 16 at the 3-A play-in tournament for the right to advance to the 3-A state tournament February 21-23 at the Sevier Valley Center of Richfield.
Region 15
MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Adam Huff posted 22 points and the Manti Templars routed the North Sanpete Hawks 77-56 in Region 15 boys basketball action Friday. Wyatt Ison’s 12 points led North Sanpete in the loss.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Emmitt Hafen led the way with 19 points, including four 3-pointers as the Richfield Wildcats pounded South Sevier 58-41 Friday in Region 15 boys basketball action.
Region 18
BEAVER, Utah-Ky Brown amassed 27 points and 11 rebounds as the Beaver Beavers pounded Gunnison 53-40 Friday in Region 18 boys basketball action. Braxton Sylvester’s 9 points led the Bulldogs in defeat.
Region 19
BICKNELL, Utah-Wyatt Van Orden posted 39 points, including 11 3-pointers, as the Wayne Badgers pounded Monument Valley 80-54 in Region 19 boys basketball action Friday. Brandon Wilson had 23 points in the loss for the Cougars.

Region 19
BICKNELL, Utah-Jamika Nelson’s 21 points led the way and the Monument Valley Cougars bested Wayne 77-70 Friday in Region 19 girls basketball action. Abby Stevens led the Badgers in the loss with 25 points.
Region 20
PANGUITCH, Utah-Brittney Henrie stepped up with 16 points as the Panguitch Bobcats smacked Valley 56-42 in Region 20 girls basketball action Friday. Esther Cox and Whitnee Spencer posted 10 points apiece for the Buffaloes in defeat.
