3A State Championship @ Weber State University
OGDEN, Utah-Gabe Mouritsen just missed a 3-pointer in the closing seconds and the No. 1 Layton Christian Eagles survived with a 48-46 win over No. 3 Grantsville Saturday to capture the 3A state title at the Dee Events Center. The Eagles have now won 6 state titles, having earned them in 2007, 2012, 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2022. This is Layton Christian’s first state title at the 3A level. Tyrese Lacey and Souleymane Barro had 12 points apiece for the Eagles in victory. Mouritsen had a game-high 20 points on 6-8 from range in the loss for the Cowboys.
3A 3rd-4th Place Game @ Bonneville HS
WASHINGTON TERRACE, Utah-Noah Bendinger posted 18 points on 6-9 from the field as the No. 3 Juan Diego Soaring Eagle earned 3rd at the 3A state tournament with a 73-57 win over No. 7 Manti Saturday at Bonneville High School. Dylan Anderson had 11 points in the loss for the Templars.
3A 5th-6th Place Game @ Bonneville HS
WASHINGTON TERRACE, Utah-Alex Fisher posted 16 points and the No. 5 Morgan Trojans earned 5th place by outlasting No. 6 Ben Lomond 47-43 Saturday at Bonneville High School. Caleb Alexander’s game-high 17 points led the Scots in the loss.
2A State Championship Game @ Sevier Valley Center
RICHFIELD, Utah-Ladd Ivins led the way with 12 points and the No. 1 San Juan Broncos outlasted No. 3 Enterprise 45-44, winning the 2A state championship 45-44 Saturday at the Sevier Valley Center. This was the Broncos’ third all-time state championship in boys basketball. The Broncos have now won state titles in 1971, 1992 and 2022. Nash Palmer had 10 points in defeat for the Wolves.
2A 3rd-4th Place Game @ Sevier Valley Center
RICHFIELD, Utah-Kason Janes had 16 points and the No. 10 Kanab Cowboys earned third place by edging Rowland Hall 44-41 at the Sevier Valley Center Saturday to conclude their time at the 2A state tournament. Sam Andrew’s 23 points led the Winged Lions in defeat.
2A 5th-6th Place Game @ Sevier Valley Center
RICHFIELD, Utah-Ridge Tebbs led the way with 16 points and the No. 5 South Sevier Rams outlasted No. 6 Parowan 49-46 at the Sevier Valley Center Saturday to earn 5th place at the 2A state tournament. Brock Felder’s 20 points led the Rams in defeat.
1A 1st Round
MILFORD, Utah-Treyton Rose netted 25 points and the No. 15 Milford Tigers routed No. 18 Water Canyon 67-53 Saturday in the 1st round of the 1A state playoffs. Aaron Barlow’s 23 points led the Wildcats in the loss. Milford next faces No. 2 Piute Wednesday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the 1A state tournament at the Sevier Valley Center.
EUREKA, Utah-The No. 12 Tintic Miners ovepowered No. 21 Mount Vernon 60-45 Saturday in the first round of the 1A state playoffs. Tintic next faces No. 5 Whitehorse Wednesday at 11:30 am in the second round of the 1A state tournament at the Sevier Valley Center.
RANDOLPH, Utah-Riley Carrillo posted 18 points and the No. 13 Rich Rebels pounded No. 20 Telos 58-32 in the first round of the 1A state playoffs Saturday. Thurston Davis had 11 points in the loss for the Titans. The Rebels next face No. 4 Bryce Valley Wednesday at 10:00 am in the second round of the 1A state tournament at the Sevier Valley Center.
OLJATO-MONUMENT VALLEY, Utah-The No. 11 Monument Valley Cougars routed No. 22 Green River 81-61 Saturday in the first round of the 1A state playoffs. The Cougars next face No. 6 Tabiona at 8:30 pm Wednesday in the second round of the 1A state tournament at the Sevier Valley Center.
BICKNELL, Utah-Ryker Peterson posted 17 points and the No. 14 Wayne Badgers waxed No. 19 Pinnacle 54-46 in the first round of the 1A state playoffs Saturday. Cole Barton’s 12 points led the Panthers in defeat. Wayne next faces No. 3 Manila Wednesday at 7:00 pm at the Sevier Valley Center in the second round of the 1A state tournament.
ALTAMONT, Utah-Dicein Taylor led the way with 19 points and the No. 10 Altamont Longhorns clobbered No. 23 Dugway 57-16 Saturday in the first round of the 1A state playoffs. Weston Mavity had 9 points in the loss for the Mustangs. The Longhorns next draw No. 7 Diamond Ranch Wednesday at 5:30 pm in the second round of the 1A state tournament at the Sevier Valley Center.
WENDOVER, Utah-Orlando Alvarez netted 22 points and the No. 16 Wendover Wildcats pounded No. 17 Intermountain Christian 76-51 in the first round of the 1A state playoffs Saturday. Peyton Lunceford had 14 points for the Lions in the loss. Wendover next draws No. 1 Panguitch Wednesday at 1:00 pm at the Sevier Valley Center in the second round of the 1A state tournament.

3A State Championship Game @ Weber State University
OGDEN, Utah-Teya Sidberry amassed 27 points and 10 rebounds and the Judge Bulldogs captured their first state girls basketball title in school history with a 43-37 win over Richfield Saturday in the 3A championship game at the Dee Events Center. Rebecca Poulsen had 10 points in the loss for the Wildcats.
3A 3rd-4th Place Game @ Bonneville HS
WASHINGTON TERRACE, Utah-Janel Blazzard posted 18 points and 6 rebounds on 5-10 from the field as the No. 5 Morgan Trojans downed No. 6 Layton Christian 65-41 Saturday in the 3rd-4th place game at Bonneville High School. Ruzgar Boyle’s 15 points led the Eagles in the loss.
3A 5th-6th Place Game @ Bonneville HS
WASHINGTON TERRACE, Utah-Baylee Jacobson posted 21 points on 7-12 from the field as the No. 4 Emery Spartans earned 5th place at the 3A state tournament by prevailing 62-42 over the No. 3 Grantsville Cowboys Saturday at Bonneville High School.
Avery Allred had 13 points in the loss for the Lady Cowboys.
2A State Championship Game @ Sevier Valley Center
RICHFIELD, Utah-Grayce Glover led the way with 19 points and the Kanab Lady Cowboys prevailed 47-37 over South Sevier, earning their first state title in girls basketball since 1992 Saturday in the 2A state championship game at the Sevier Valley Center. Aspen Okerlund had 13 points in the loss for the Rams.
2A 3rd-4th Place Game @ Sevier Valley Center
RICHFIELD, Utah-Aubree Lunt posted 16 points and the No. 2 Millard Eagles secured 3rd place at the 2A state tournament with a 54-43 win over No. 4 North Summit Saturday at the Sevier Valley Center. Hartlyn Richins had 15 points in the loss for the Braves.
2A 5th-6th Place Game @ Sevier Valley Center
RICHFIELD, Utah-Avery Brown’s 13 points led the way as the No. 1 Beaver Beavers waxed No. 6 Duchesne 41-22 to earn 5th place Saturday at the 2A state tournament at the Sevier Valley Center. Baylee Clayburn had 6 points for the Eagles in defeat.

ORDERVILLE, Utah-Janilyn Hoyt posted 20 points and the No. 13 Valley Buffaloes hammered No. 20 Pinnacle 69-14 Saturday in the second round of the 1A girls basketball playoffs. Valley next faces No. 4 Panguitch at Richfield High School Wednesday at 10:00 am in the first round of the 1A state tournament.
MILFORD, Utah-JaLeana Tsosie had 17 points and 9 rebounds in defeat for the No. 14 Milford Tigers in a 49-33 win over No. 19 Monticello in the second round of the 1A girls basketball playoffs Saturday. Kenlee Atwood had 8 points in the loss for the Buckaroos.
TROPIC, Utah-Shandi Syrett posted 9 points and the No. 15 Bryce Valley Mustangs stymied No. 18 Green River 33-14 Saturday in the first round of the 1A girls basketball playoffs. Abigail Erwin had 11 points for the Pirates in the loss. The Mustangs next draw No. 2 Tabiona Wednesday at 4:00 pm at Richfield High School in the second round of the 1A state tournament.
MANILA, Utah-The No. 16 Manila Mustangs stonewalled No. 17 Tintic 31-24 in the first round of the 1A girls basketball playoffs Saturday. The Mustangs next face No. 1 Piute Wednesday at 1:00 pm in the second round of the 1A state tournament at Richfield High School.
